The Margaret River region in the south-west of Western Australia is surrounded by premium wineries, extraordinary architecture, natural tall tree forests and amazing vistas of undulating vineyards, it is the lush forest, the river and the surf breaks that add an extra dimension to Margaret River.

There are things that you can do nowhere else in the world, like climbing the historic lighthouses and walk along the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere. It’s got lessons so you can learn to scuba dive, snorkel, fish, ride a horse, even paint, sculpt and blow glass!  There’s tasting, eating, drinking and all together indulging with the list of wineries, breweries, restaurants, chocolatiers, confectionery producers, farmer’s markets and providores.

Dunsborough isn’t just home to several gorgeous beaches, it also has a lot to offer in respect of kids’ activities and in addition, it is close to the Margaret River wine region.  Why not spend your days on sightseeing tours and visiting one of the many local attractions or just relax on a white sandy beach and splash in the turquoise waters of one of the many spectacular beaches in Dunsborough and then visit a family-friendly restaurant for a relaxing lunch.

Cape Naturaliste Walking Trails

There are numerous easy walks along the coast. This is a great family experience for all ages.  The walk from Dunsborough to Meelep takes about an hour each way.  There is are amazing swimming spots along the way.  Walking through the unspoilt native bush you will experience amazing views of the ocean, stunning scenery and you could bump into a kangaroo.

Castle Rock

Castle Rock is located at the end of Castle Bay – a beautiful white sandy beach ideal for swimming and picnics.  The views from the top of Castle Rock are spectacular.  When the waves are big and dangerous head for Castle Bay because it is protected.

Ngilgi Cave

Ngilgi Cave can be found on Geographe Bay and Margaret River Region just off Caves Road.  The Ngilgi Cave was formerly known as Yallingup Cave.  The cave houses stunning stalactite, stalagmite, helictite and shawl formations.

Meelup Reserve Trail

This particular seaside walk weaves around the peaceful waters of Geographe Bay from Dunsborough to Meelup. Highlights include whale watching lookouts, small bay communities, various ecosystems and even several of the greatest beaches in Western Australia

Meelup Beach

This picturesque beach is one not to miss! Beautiful white sand, clear turquoise water and shady grassed areas. Meelup Beach is the perfect spot for a family beach day, ideal for picnics and swimming in its calm waters. Grab your snorkel and explore the crystal clear waters.

Yallingup Beach

This particular picturesque beach is but one never to miss! Gorgeous white sand, clear turquoise water and shady grassed areas. Meelup Beach may be the ideal spot for a family unit beach day, perfect for swimming and picnics. Grab the snorkel of yours and examine the really clear waters.

Canal Rocks

A great natural attraction.  The water gushing through the rocks on a windy day is very impressive.  Hopping over the rocks is a fun activity of the whole family.

Injidup Beach and Spa

A perfect spot for surfing, snorkeling  and sliding down the sand dunes, swimming and diving. The Injidup Spa is a hidden gem – just a short walk over rocks.  The water rushes overs the rocks and falls into a pool forming a spectacular natural spa.
